Elegance and Modesty By Shanice D. Coombs

Elegance and Modesty
By: Shanice D. Coombs

It is a fact that the most precious jewels are always hidden. Diamonds are hidden in the earth’s mantle, pearls are enclosed in a clam at the bottom of the ocean and gold may be found in hard rock or soil debris.
God has called us his precious jewels but do we believe that? If we do, then it is high time we begin covering the beautiful assets he has blessed us with. BeyoncĂ© said “if you got it, flaunt it”; I say put an end to that! If you respect it, cover it!
Think about it, when you see a woman dressed with Kim and Kimone (her breasts) or her cheeks outside, the first thing that comes to mind isn't elegance. I often feel pity towards them because I assume they don't know their true value. It also draws unnecessary attention, whether you want it or not.
Finally, always remember that your dressing tells a little about your character so what introduction are you giving when you walk the streets?
The next time you're gonna put on that ‘little black dress’ or getting dressed for a banquet or even wearing ‘regular’ clothes, remember: Modesty is the ultimate form of Elegance.
